An eclectic Alt Rock three-piece brewing heady concoctions of Classic Rock, Progressive Blues Rock, Post-Punk and Classic Soul.
“Gus may be a new name to some but if he can produce music this good then he will become an artist in demand” - Blues in Britain Magazine
Born and raised in Galway, where he was classically trained as a finger-style guitarist, Gus moved to England at the turn of the millennium and gained a first-class honours degree in Creative Writing with English Literature.
He honed his craft on the folk circuit and tours the solo show ‘Routes to Classics,’ which traces the development of the music we love today from its roots in traditional folk and Blues, with the National Rural Touring Forum.
In 2016 he formed The Gus Glynn Band. ‘Paint it Blue’ is their third studio album.
“For me the blues is like playing folk music with an electric guitar.”
Brought up within an eclectic musical family, Gus grew up wanting to emulate the raw attitude of bands like The Velvet Underground and Iggy and the Stooges.
“The band is more about what I want to say and do as an artist that I don’t hear anywhere else and it’s about a band being uncompromising, even in the way we play covers. That’s really worked for us, so far. People appreciate and respect integrity.”
The Gus Glynn Band are consistently wowing crowds at Blues Clubs and Festivals in the North West and are now looking to reach a wider audience.
"This tight outfit have been building a growing reputation on the local and now wider scene. They show a stunning musical maturity, which was truly appreciated by the packed audience." Robin Bradshaw, Warrington Blues Club
